King is United Soccer Coaches Junior College DII Player of the Year

She joins Celine Ottah (2023) as the only two Bobcat winners

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches announced the 2025 Player of the Year recipients across the senior college, junior college, high school and youth levels on Tuesday.

Jones College's Sherline King was selected the Junior College Division II POTY after a record-setting sophomore season for the Bobcats.

King scored a single-season school record 29 goals, eight of them game-winners, and set a new career record at JC with 54 goals in her two seasons.

She had two matches with four goals and a five-goal match in a win at East Mississippi. One of her four-goal matches helped the Bobcats upset No. 1 Johnson County to reach the national semifinals Nov. 18, the Cavaliers' only loss (21-1-1) of the year.

King was also named the 2025 MACCC Player of the Year, NJCAA All-Region 23, First Team All-MACCC, NJCAA First Team All-American and was a two-time MACCC Player of the Week.

King joins Celine Ottah (2023) as the only two Bobcats to ever win the national honor as POTY from United Soccer Coaches.

Jones finished the year 14-6-2 and reached its fourth national semifinal in five all-time NJCAA Tournament trips.
