JACKSON – Six Jones College Bobcats have been named to the All-MACCC men's soccer team.
Matt Reed and
Stanley Georgiou were named First Team All-MACCC and NJCAA All-Region 23.
Eskil Instebø,
Drew Raffaelle and
Braden Buchanan made the Second Team and
Cade Thortis was named Honorable Mention.
Brendan Connolly was selected the Gulf South District Coach of the Year and presented his plaque at the national tournament in Wichita, Kansas.
Reed, a sophomore forward from Solihull, England, led the team with 19 goals. He also had nine assists and finished with 47 points. He was second in goals and points in the MACCC and ninth in NJCAA Division II. He scored a season-high four goals in a 6-1 win over Northwest on Oct. 21. Reed was an All-MACCC Second Team performer in 2024.
Georgiou, a freshman defender from Ampthill, England, had three goals and three assists. He anchored a Bobcat defense that allowed only 17 goals all season.
Instebø, sophomore midfielder from Bergen, Norway, started all 22 games for Jones. He had a goal, two assists and helped a defense that allowed only .77 goals per game.
Raffaelle, a freshman defender from Madison Central, had two goals and an assist and helped the Bobcats record 10 shutouts.
Buchanan, a freshman forward from Madison Central, had nine goals, six assists and finished with 24 points, which was second on the team.
Thortis, a sophomore defender from Northwest Rankin, had one goal and one assist.
Connolly, who just ended his 10th season as head coach, guided the Bobcats to a 16-3-3 record, which ties the single season record for victories. He led Jones to the MACCC and Region 23 championships and has led the Bobcats to six conference titles in the past eight years.
Connolly owns a 120-42-12 (.724) during his tenure as head coach.
