Four from men's soccer sign with senior colleges

ELLISVILLE – Four members of the 2025 MACCC, Region 23 and Gulf South District champion Jones College men's soccer team have signed to play with senior colleges.

Eskil Instebø (LSU Shreveport), Andrew Pearce (Millsaps College), Tripp Alexander (Huntingdon College) and Matt Reed (Rogers State) made their decisions known earlier this week.

There now have been 35 Bobcats to sign with four-year schools since 2018.

Instebø, a midfielder from Bergen, Norway, was named All-MACCC Second Team this past season. He started all 37 games during his two years at Jones. This past year, he scored a goal, with two assists and helped a defense that allowed only .77 goals. He was named a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American earlier this year. He was also NJCAA All-Academic Third Team, Academic All-MACCC and two-time member of the school's academic honor roll.

Pearce, a defender from Forrest County AHS, played in 16 games with two goals scored and an assist the past two seasons. He helped the defense allow only 17 goals all season in 2025. He was also NJCAA All-Academic First Team, Distinguished Academic All-MACCC and two-time member of the school's President's List.

Alexander, a defender from Gulfport, played in 15 games over his two-year Jones career. He helped a Bobcat defense that was involved in 10 shutouts this season. He was also NJCAA All-Academic First Team, Distinguished Academic All-MACCC and two-time member of the school's President's List.

Reed, a forward from Solihull, England, was named an NJCAA All-American Third Team and was also a United Soccer Coaches All-American. He led the team with 19 goals and nine game-winners in 2025. He also had nine assists and finished with 47 points. Reed was second in goals and points in the MACCC and ninth in NJCAA Division II. He scored a season-high four goals in a 6-1 win over Northwest on Oct. 21. Reed was an All-MACCC Second Team performer in 2024 when he finished with 11 goals and five assists.

Jones went 16-3-3 in 2025 and advanced to the NJCAA Division II Tournament.
