MERIDIAN – Jones College's
Bastian Graf tied for first in the Jim Redgate Invitational here Tuesday at Briarwood Country Club.
Graf, a freshman from Germany, posted a
73-68 – 141, 3-under par. In the two-day tournament. That tied him with Mississippi Gulf Coast's Paul Hoefer and Meridian's Dax Reaux. Hoefer won medalist honors in a playoff. Graf was named to the All-Tournament Team.
As a team the Bobcats finished third with a
294-296 – 590. MGCCC won the event with a
278-289 – 567 and Meridian was second with a
295-292 – 587. Hinds was fourth at 602 and Northwest was fifth with a 609 in the 11-team tournament.
Individually, Bobcat
Drew Groscost (Lewisburg) finished in a tie for eighth with a
70-76 – 146, 2-over par.
Julius Hautmann (Germany) tied for 13th with a
74-74 – 148, 4-over par.
Josh Tombs (England) shot a
79-78 – 157,
Matthew Eubank (Petal) posted an
80-80 – 160 and
Walker Hall (Wayne Academy) fired a
77-85 – 162.
The next tournament for Jones will be the Charles Cooper Classic at Windance Country Club in Gulfport on Oct. 27-28. That event will be hosted by MGCCC.
The Bobcats conclude the fall portion of the schedule by hosting the JC Invitational Nov. 10-11 at Laurel Country Club.
