ELLISVILLE – Jones College attempts to regain its winning ways this weekend.
 
The Bobcats travel to Southwest for a 5 p.m. Saturday game where it will Homecoming for the Bears. The game will air on 
jcbobcats.com/watch with Mark Easley and Chuck Robertson on the call.
Jones has won the last 14 meetings.
 
Jones (4-3, 1-3) had a disappointing outing last week. The Bobcats dropped a 21-7 decision to East Central, which knocked them out of any chance at postseason play.
 
Jones turned the ball over on its first three possessions and never recovered after that rough start. The Bobcats had defeated Holmes (38-28) and No. 12 Hinds (31-21) in its previous two games prior to falling to ECCC.
 
Quarterback 
Jevarion Glover (Amanda Elzy) rushed for 14 times for 70 yards, but only had 84 yards through the air. He completed 16-of-26 passes with two interceptions. Running back 
Ky'Yon Harris (Union) carried nine times for 43 yards and wideout 
Zay Roberts (Pompano Beach, Fla.) had four receptions for 40 yards.
 
Arterus Moffett (Saraland, Ala.) and 
Delarrius Hayes (Magee) each had eight tackles with Hayes recording 2.5 tackles for loss. 
Tay James (Mendenhall) had seven tackles and 
Isaiah Lindsey (West Jones) had six tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks. 
Ny'zavion McClendon (Lake) had 1.5 TFLs and 
Tmarion Phillips (Roanoke, Ala.) had 1.0 TFL.
 
Southwest (2-5, 1-3) has lost four in a row.
 
The Bears beat Holmes (34-6), lost to Northeast (35-21) and beat Pearl River (35-20) to start the season. Since then, they have lost to No. 9 Mississippi Gulf Coast (40-23), No. 7 Copiah-Lincoln (38-7), No. 4 Northwest (33-13) and No. 12 Hinds (31-7).
 
The Bears are led on offense by quarterback Charlie Fair, a 6-foot-2, 197-pound sophomore from Grenada and Holmes transfer, who has completed 65 of 121 passes for 631 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Jalen Williams, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound sophomore from Rayville, La., is the leading rusher with 547 yards on 112 carries. Isaiah Jones, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound redshirt freshman from Columbia, S.C., and University of Akron transfer, and Tahj Williby, a 6-foot-4, 188-pound freshman from Donaldsonville, La., are the leading receivers with 15 catches each.
 
BJ Mitchell, a 6-foot, 210-pound sophomore linebacker from Hattiesburg and Holmes transfer, tops the Bears on defense with 62 tackles and a sack. Skylar Husband, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back from Petal, has two pass interceptions.
 
Jones ends the season next with a 7 p.m. game at home on Oct. 30 vs. Pearl River. Southwest goes to East Central on Oct. 30.
