Dimp Pernell and
Ky Pernell scored 23 and 21 to lead five Bobcats in double figures as No. 7 Jones drilled Northwest 100-56 Thursday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Jones improved to 10-0 at home this season and has won 14 straight overall in Ellisville.
Shavurdacour Nichola's game-opening three-pointer gave Northwest, 6-9, 1-3 MACCC, its only lead of the game.
Ky, Dimp and
LJ Hackman combined for 35 of Jones' 44 first-half points to give the Bobcats, 17-3, 3-1 MACCC, a 15-point cushion at the break.
Jones scored 10 of the first 12 points in the second half to push ahead by 23 and the rout was on.
DJ Davis had all 11 of his points in the second and he'd add four steals and four rebounds.
Jones shot 51 percent in the period and would close at 49 percent for the night against 36 percent for the Rangers.
Making his first collegiate start,
Amillion Buggs had seven points and seven rebounds.
Malik Franklin added nine points off the bench and
Jay Tyler a season-high 12.
The Bobcats hit 13 three-pointers, five of them from Dimp. It marked a sixth time this season with 10 or more.
Colain Brown was the lone Ranger in double figures with 10 points.
Jones travels to Southwest on Monday, Jan. 27 for a 7:30 tip.
