PERKINSTON – A 16-0 Bobcat run to close the first half opened up an insurmountable lead for No. 7 Jones as they rolled to a 67-54 win over Gulf Coast Monday night at Dantzler Arena.
Jones has won 10 straight over MGCCC.
The Bobcats improved to 16-3, 2-1 MACCC while the Bulldogs fell to 11-6, 1-2.
Jones led 40-23 at half after an
Avery Thomas II and-one and back-to-back
Kylan Howze dunks.
MGCCC was held to 28 percent shooting in the opening period.
The Bulldogs got within a dozen in the game's final six minutes, but no closer.
Thomas finished with 23 points and six rebounds,
Kylan Howze 12 points, six rebounds and four steals,
Ky Pernell 11 points and eight boards and
LJ Hackman had eight rebounds and eight assists in addition to four points.
Jabbari Barry was the lone Bulldog in double figures with 15 points.
Jones shot 40 percent from the floor against 36 percent for MGCCC. The Bulldogs were held to 7-of-30 from three-point range.
Jones will host Northwest Mississippi on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7:30.
