HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Jones had a great weekend at the Alabama/Mississippi Crossover hosted by Wallace State-Hanceville, finishing 5-1 over six matches.
The Bobcats improved to 9-1 on the young season and will return home Friday, Sept. 13 for just the second time. Tipoff is set for 4:30 against Bevill State.
A handful of players stood out over the three-day tournament, with
Harmony Jackson (Offensive) and
Emily Boudreaux (Defensive) sweeping MACCC Player of the Week honors.
Jackson finished with a team-best 93 kills and a .299 attack percentage. She added 16 digs and nine blocks. Boudreaux had 108 of the team's 322 digs and added 25 assists.
Ainslee Copeland (53),
Lexie Drace (40) and
Alanah Fitch (30) and
Aubriyah Smith (25) all had 25-plus kills. Fitch had a team-best 24 blocks.
Mamie Fromdahl, who was selected to the All-Tournament Team along with Boudreaux, had 140 assists and 25 digs.
As a team, the Bobcats hit .263 with 11.92 kills/set and added 48 aces and 45 blocks.
