ELLISVILLE – Home for just the second time in 11 matches, Jones handled business with a 3-1 victory over Bevill State Friday afternoon at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
The Bobcats improved to 10-1 with their third victory over the Bears, 2-11, in two weeks.
Jones dominated the opening set 25-12 and won the second, 25-16.
Bevill State won the third set 25-18 before the Bobcats closed it out with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.
The Bobcats weren't as sharp with 22 errors and just a .144 attack percentage, but held the Bears to an .061 attack percentage.
Harmony Jackson had 17 of Jones' 41 kills.
Lexie Drace and
Ainslee Copeland added six apiece.
Emily Boudreaux (21),
Mamie Fromdahl (12) and
Lexie Drace (11) all had double digit digs.
Jones heads to Brewton, Alabama, Monday for a 5 p.m. first serve against Coastal Alabama-North.
