La'Genesis Johnson and
Valencia McFall both fouled out midway through the fourth quarter and a Bobcat comeback fell short, 77-69, Thursday night at Mullen Gymnasium.
Co-Lin snapped a nine-game losing streak to Jones as they improved to 10-8, 2-4 MACCC. The Bobcats dropped their seventh straight to fall to 4-14, 0-7 in conference play.
McFall and
Chrystianna Beeman combined for the first nine Bobcat points as they led 9-8 in the opening quarter, but Co-Lin scored eight of the final 10 to lead 16-11 after one quarter.
The Lady Wolves never trailed again.
Co-Lin led 36-31 at half.
Hope Mealer was 2-for-2 from deep and scored six second quarter points and
Khyla Ragins added five to keep it a two possession game.
Jones cut the lead to 44-43 with 5:17 to play in the third quarter on an
Aasia Wilson layup, but Co-Lin ended the quarter on an 11-3 run to lead by eight after three.
Jones trailed by as many as 13 in the fourth quarter and never got closer than six in a comeback effort.
Johnson fouled out with 5:24 to play and McFall with 3:24 left.
Co-Lin's bench outscored Jones' bench 34-12 and outscored them 50-28 in the paint.
The Wolves shot 46 percent against 39 for Jones. The Bobcats had one of their best shooting nights from deep, going 7-for-17.
McFall had 15 points, Wilson 14, Ragins 12 and Johnson 10 points and 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the year.
A'Shante Fleming had a game-high 17 for Co-Lin.
Jones returns home Monday to host East Mississippi for a 5:30 tipoff.
