Bobcats bounce back to defeat Dolphins, 61-44

ELLISVILLE – Jones College defeated Delgado 61-44 here Monday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
 
Aasia Wilson (West Jones) and Zharia Leflore (Neshoba Central) both posted double-doubles as Jones rebounded from a big loss at No. 2 Northwest Florida.
 
Two Larissa Hubbard (Harrison Central) free throws gave Jones a 10-4 lead midway through the opening quarter.

But Delgado cut the lead to 12-11 at the end of the period.
 
The Dolphins took their only lead of the game, 16-14, when Arieonia Ebbs hit a jumper with 7:32 left in the first half. The Bobcats then went on an 11-0 run, capped by a Wilson free throw, to take a 25-16 lead with 3:38 to play in the second quarter.

Jones led 30-22 at halftime.
 
Jones scored the first six points of the third quarter and went up 38-22 when Leflore made a layup with 6:14 remaining. The Bobcats led 44-30 after three quarters.
 
The Bobcats took their largest lead at 51-32 with 8:05 remaining when K'Lylah Stovall (Forest Hill) made a layup.
 
The Bobcats shot 36 percent from the floor and only 1-of-11 from 3-point range. The Dolphins shot 31 percent and just 5-of-23 from 3-point range. 

Wilson finished with 14 points, 15 rebounds and six assists, Leflore had 13 points and 10 boards, Hubbard 11 off the bench and Stovall 10.
 
Miracle Irving led Delgado with 16 points.
 
Jones outscored Delgado 34-20 on points in the paint and 23-9 on second chance points. The Bobcats outrebounded the Dolphins 50-36 and committed 16 turnovers compared to 22 for Delgado

The Bobcats will host No. 14 Trinity Valley (Texas) at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Delgado (0-11) travels to Southwest on Thursday.
