ELLISVILLE – An 11-0 Bobcat run to close the third quarter wasn't enough as No. 14 Trinity Valley outscored Jones 18-4 the final quarter in a 72-46 win Saturday afternoon at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
TVCC improved to 7-0 all-time against Jones and swept the season series.
The Lady Cards improved to 11-2 overall while dropping the Bobcats to 3-6.
TVCC scored the game's first six points before a
Teeale Wells and-1 and pair of
Aasia Wilson free throws gave Jones its only lead, 9-8, with 6:05 left in the opening quarter.
The Bobcats trailed just 19-16 after one and 33-24 at the half.
Down 52-31 with just over five minutes left in the third quarter, an 11-0 Bobcat run got Jones within 52-42.
But that's as close as the Bobcats would get, with TVCC outscoring Jones 20-4 to end the game.
Wells and Wilson finished with 11 apiece, followed by eight points and six rebounds from
Larissa Hubbard.
Carolina de Domingo had five of Jones' eight assists.
Ariana Dyson had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead TVCC. J'yana Salton added 13 points.
The Bobcats shot 33 percent from the floor and just 2-of-16 from downtown. TVCC shot 44 percent from the floor.
