MOBILE, Ala. – Jones scored the first eight points to open the second half and would go on to defeat Bishop State, 90-83, Friday night to sweep the season series.
The Bobcats, ranked 15th in the NJCAA, improved to 9-2. The Wildcats dropped to 5-3.
Jones led by as many as 13 in the opening half, 40-27, but Bishop State closed on a 14-5 spurt to pull within 45-41 at half.

Avery Thomas II and
Ky Pernell combined for 34 of Jones' 45 first half points.
The 8-0 second half run quickly pushed the lead out to 12 for JC.
Thomas closed with 25 points and 13 boards -- both season-highs -- followed by 24 from Hackman, 17 from Ky and 11 points and 11 boards from
Dimp Pernell.
Jones shot 50 percent from the floor for a fourth time this season against 44 percent for BSCC. The Bobcats also owned a 43-26 edge on the boards.
Five Wildcats scored in double figures, led by 23 from Kedar Bodie.
Jones hosts Delgado Monday at 7:30. The Bobcats will receive their 2023-24 MACCC and Region 23 Championship rings prior to tipoff.
