WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – The defending MACCC and NJCAA Region 23 Champions opened the 2024-25 season in emphatic fashion Friday night with an 85-39 drubbing of ASU Mid-South on the Greyhounds' home floor.
Jones led 36-18 at the break and outscored ASU Mid-South 49-21 in the second half.
The Bobcats opened the game with 10 of the first 12 points to force a Greyhound timeout. After a
Dimp Pernell steal and slam the lead moved to 17-6.

DJ Davis steal and full court pass to
LJ Hackman for a fastbreak layup closed the first half for Jones ahead 36-18.
Hackman and D. Pernell had 10 apiece in the opening 20 minutes.
Jylan Howze buried his first career triple from on top of the arc to make it 50-23 Bobcats midway through the second half.
Ky Pernell led three Bobcats in double figures with 16, Dimp had 15 and Hackman 13.
Kylan Howze had five points and pulled down a game-high 12 boards.
Jones shot 47 percent from the floor and held ASU Mid-South to just 25 percent shooting, including 3 of 26 from deep.
The Bobcats face off with defending NJCAA Division II Champions, National Park College, at noon Saturday.
