ELLISVILLE – Jones upset No. 17 Enterprise State, 3-0, Friday afternoon at A.B. Howard Gymnasium to close out its inaugural home slate 9-2.
It's the Bobcats' second Top 20 win of the season as they improved to 24-7. The Boll Weevils dropped to 23-8.
Friday's match was Jones' Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Game.
Jones won the opening set 25-20 despite being down 6-1 to start. They'd win the ensuing two sets 25-17 and 25-16.
Harmony Jackson (12),
Lexie Drace (12) and
LeAnn Lambert (11) combined for 35 of Jones' 40 kills. The Bobcats hit .295 as a team.
Alanah Fitch had five of Jones' 10 blocks,
Emily Boudreaux had 14 digs.
Alivia Freeman led the Weevils with 10 kills. As a team ESCC hit .106.
Jones closes out the regular season Monday, Oct. 28 at Bishop State at 5 p.m.
