Bobcats go 3-1 at Snead State Invitational Tournament

BOAZ, Ala. – It was a good weekend for head volleyball coach John Dussouy and the Bobcats.

Jones went 3-1 at the Snead State Invitational Tournament, including an upset of No. 12 Walters State to open the tournament on Friday.

The Bobcats beat Walters State 3-2, lost to Wallace State-Hanceville 3-0, beat Bevill State 3-1 and Northeast, 3-0.

Jones hit .276 for the weekend, ledy by Ainslee Copeland and Harmony Jackson with 23 kills apiece and Lexie Drace with 17.

Sara Akins, Adelaide Egner and Mamie Fromdahl all had double digit aces, finishing with 15, 13 and 11. Jones had 58 as a team in 21 sets.

Emily Boudreaux had 93 digs, Egner 41, Akins 45, Annie Woolbright 33 and Fromdahl 31. Alanah Fitch had 14 of Jones' 23 blocks.

The Bobcats improved to 19-6 overall and can pick up win No. 20 Monday night when they host conference-leading Northwest at 6 p.m.
