HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Jones College Bobcats are making some noise in the first preseason football poll of the summer.
JCGridiron.com ranks the Bobcats No. 3 in the nation in its preseason poll. These rankings include both the NJCAA and California junior colleges.
Head coach
Steve Buckley's Bobcats went 8-2 in 2022 and advanced to the MACCC semifinals.
Defending conference champion East Mississippi tops the rankings, followed by City College of San Francisco at No. 2 and Jones. Jones travels to East Mississippi on Sept. 14.
Other MACCC schools in the Top 30 are Mississippi Gulf Coast at No. 16 and Northwest at No. 18. Holmes, Northeast, Pearl River and Copiah-Lincoln received votes.
The Bobcats open the season Sept. 7 at Itawamba. The first of just four home games is Sept. 21 vs. Co-Lin.
The NJCAA Division I preseason poll will be released in August.
