JACKSON – Several Jones College Bobcats and head coach
Chris Robinson have been honored by the MACCC.
Lauren Lindsey,
Aaliyah Dixon and
Nia Luckett have been named All-MACCC First Team and
Carly Lewis and
Holly Craft have received All-MACCC Second Team honors.
Gabby Hoffman,
Kathryn Smith and
Elise Jackson have been named Honorable Mention.
Robinson has been named the MACCC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career. Robinson guided the Bobcats to their third straight conference championship and 13th league title overall.
Lindsey, a sophomore first baseman from Mobile, Alabama, batted .415 with 19 home runs and 63 RBIs. She had a 1.271 OPS (on base plus slugging) and a .782 slugging percentage with 10 doubles. The Southern Miss signee holds the Jones school record for home runs (56), RBIs (199), doubles (46) and base hits (224).
Lindsey was All-MACCC First Team in 2021 and 2022 and was the MACCC Offensive Player of the Year in 2021. She has been an NFCA All-American the past two years and was an NJCAA All-American First Team in 2022 and Third Team in 2021. Lindsey has been All-Region 23 the past two seasons.
Dixon, a sophomore outfielder from Hillcrest Christian in Jackson, batted .321 with seven home runs and 32 RBIs. She led the team with six triples and had four doubles. She was 28-for-28 in stolen bases. She was an All-MACCC First Team performer in 2022 and was an NFCA Second Team All-American.
Luckett, a sophomore pitcher/outfielder from Philadelphia, was 16-5 with a 2.37 earned run average in the circle this season. She pitched 121 innings, allowed 41 earned runs, 92 hits, 56 walks and had 138 strikeouts. At the plate, she led the team with a .453 average and 29 stolen bases. She had six home runs, 36 RBIs, eight doubles, two triples and had an OPS of 1.146.
For her career, Luckett was 50-17 as a pitcher with 501 strikeouts in 411.0 innings pitched. Offensively, she batted .400 with 14 home runs, 76 RBIs and 72 stolen bases.
She was All-MACCC First Team in 2022, was an NFCA First Team All-American and NJCAA Third Team All-American. As a true freshman in 2021, she was NFCA and NJCAA First Team All-American, was a member of the NJCAA Division II All-Tournament Team and was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher of the national tournament.
Lewis, a sophomore third baseman from Jackson Prep, batted .420 with seven home runs and a team-leading 68 RBIs. She had a 1.078 OPS, a .637 slugging percentage and was 18-for-18 in stolen bases.
Craft, a sophomore pitcher from Raleigh, was 18-2 with a 2.19 ERA. The Southern Miss signee pitched 137.2 innings, allowed 43 earned runs, 84 hits, walked 43 and struck out 160. For her pitching career, she was 27-5 with a 2.78 ERA. She pitched 226.2 innings, allowed 166 hits and struck out 252. Craft batted .270 in her two years at Jones with eight home runs and 32 RBIs.
Hoffman, a sophomore shortstop from Florence, batted .345 with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs. She had nine doubles, a 1.030 OPS and a .630 slugging percentage.
Smith, a sophomore second baseman from Luling, Louisiana, led the Bobcats with 20 home runs. She batted .322 with 56 RBIs, seven doubles, a 1.172 OPS and a .737 slugging percentage. In her two years at Jones, Smith had 31 home runs, 89 RBIs and .678 slugging percentage.
Jackson, a freshman outfielder from Purvis, batted .352 with one triple, one double and 37 base hits. She was 26-for-26 in stolen bases.
Robinson, who ends his coaching career at Jones, led the Bobcats to a 50-10 record and a runner-up finish in the NJCAA Division II World Series this past season. In his 14 years with the Bobcats, Robinson compiled a 590-138 record (.810) and led the team to 11 consecutive 40-win seasons. Jones made eight trips to the World Series and won the national championship in 2018.
