ELLISVILLE – After a slow start in doubles play, No. 11 Jones rallied to take all three points and clinched its third straight NJCAA Region 23 Championship at No. 6 singles, beating No. 12 Gulf Coast 5-0 Sunday morning.
Jones won all three matches of the tournament by identical 5-0 scores.
The Bobcats wrapped up an undefeated home slate, 12-0, and improved to 22-3 overall.
Gulf Coast, 14-5, led in all three doubles matches early 3-2 before Jones locked in and took wins at all three positions.

Jones led in every singles match before they clinched. Johnson won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 and Anderson 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 to lock up a third straight region title.
The Bobcats will head to Tyler, Texas, May 6-10 to compete in the NJCAA National Tournament for a 19th time in program history.
