ELLISVILLE – Jones College pitchers allowed only five hits in two games as the 11th-rated Bobcats swept Coahoma here Saturday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
In game one, the Bobcats took advantage of 12 walks and beat the Tigers, 7-2. In game two, the Bobcats scored four runs in the first inning and nine in the fifth and posted a 13-1 decision.
Offensively,
Gatlin Sanders (Madison Central) went 4-for-6 with five RBIs in the doubleheader and has now reached base in 23 consecutive games.
Jones, 24-6 overall and 9-1 in the MACCC, visits Mississippi Gulf Coast for a 3 p.m. Wednesday doubleheader.
Coahoma, 3-23 and 0-10, hosts East Mississippi Wednesday.

Sanders had an RBI single in the first inning and a two-run single to right in the third. He finished the game with two singles.
Josh Cary (Petal) had a double with

Chase Honeycutt (DeSoto Central) adding singles.
Colby Tubre (D'Iberville) started and went 4.0 innings, allowing one run, two hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
Eli Walker (Gulfport) pitched 2.0 innings and got the win to improve to 2-0. He gave up no hits and had a strikeout.
Tate Duncan (Columbia Academy) pitched 2.0 innings, giving up a hit, an unearned run and recording a strikeout.
Charlee Strickland (Northeast Jones) pitched a perfect ninth inning.
Cade Gadman, Logan Muhleisen and Jake Smith each singled for the Tigers.
CCC starting pitcher Tyler Cavenaugh lasted only .1 inning, allowing two runs, three hits, three walks and took the loss.

Jakob Wax (Prairieville, Louisiana) and Carley each had RBI singles in the first inning as the Bobcats took a 4-0 lead.
The Bobcats sent 14 batters to the plate in the fifth.
Sanders and Wax had bases loaded walks to score runs. J.T. Elias (West Jones) had an infield single to drive in a run. Carley had a bases loaded, two-run single to right to score two runs. An error allowed Elias and Carley to score on the same play.
Starter
Brice Deaton (Pontotoc) went 5.0 innings and got the win to up his record to 4-1. He allowed no runs, one hit, walked two and struck out three. Bryans tossed an inning, allowed an unearned run with two strikeouts.
Luke Lycette (Northwest Rankin) pitched the final inning, giving up one hit and notching a strikeout.
Jacob McCall (Brandon) doubled and singled twice to pace the Jones' offense. Sanders doubled and singled and Carley singled twice and had three RBIs. Gibson, Wax,
Tristan Pearson (Biloxi) and Elias added singles.
Aaron Holloway and Garrett Smith had singles for Coahoma.
CCC starting pitcher Jacob Lanier went 4.1 innings and got the loss. He gave up seven runs, seven hits and walked five.
