PERKINSTON – Jones homered seven times in the opener, including two from
Beau Bryans, and never looked back in throttling Mississippi Gulf Coast twice, 17-4 and 12-0, Wednesday afternoon at Ken "Curly" Farris Field.
The Bobcats improved to 26-6, 11-1 in the MACCC, to maintain a two-game lead in the conference standings. MGCCC fell to 13-17, 6-6.
Jones combined for 29 runs on 28 hits with seven long balls and four doubles, while the pitching staff punched out 25 Bulldogs.

Gatlin Sanders hit a two-out, solo home run in the first and the rout was on in game one.
Chase Honeycutt hit a two-run shot in the third and Gulf Coast responded with a two-run homer of its own to make it 5-2 Bobcats after three.
The first seven batters reached for Jones in the fourth and they would plate eight in the inning to stretch the lead to 13-2.
Marquette Gibson,
Peyton Bell and Bryans all homered in the inning.
Jakob Wax hit a solo homer in the sixth and Bryans a three-run homer in the seventh.
All nine Bobcats had a hit in the game one win.
Tristan Pearson added three hits and
Luke Lycette two.
Dalton Tanner (3-1) went 4.2 innings, striking out seven and allowing three runs on five hits.

Drew Druckenmiller logged his third straight shutout performance and five Bobcats had multiple hits in the game two victory.
Jones scored in the first six innings.
A leadoff single for
Josh Cary got a three-run first inning started and Jones also capitalized off two Bulldog errors, a wild pitch, passed ball and hit-by-pitch.
Lycette led off the second with a double and came around to score on Bryans' single to make it 4-0 Bobcats after two.
Wax doubled in the third and scored on a passed ball. Cary's RBI-single made it 6-0 after three.
Gibson,
Gatlin Sanders and Bryans all added RBIs in the fifth to extend the Jones lead to 11-0.
Druckenmiller held MGCCC hitless through three before allowing two singles in the fourth. He went 5.1 frames, striking out 11, and has now thrown 20 straight scoreless innings.
Eli Walker threw a scoreless seventh.
