Colby Tubre punched out 10 in seven solid innings to lift No. 13 Jones to a win in the opener, 6-2, and

Jones improved to 20-6, 5-1 in conference play, while EMCC fell to 12-13 and 1-5 in the MACCC.
The Bobcats have won 11 of the last 15 over the Lions and are 10-1 away from home this season.

Jones 6, EMCC 2
Tubre's career-high 10 punchouts and a 4-for-6 game for
Beau Bryans was the key to a game one Bobcat win.
Jakob Wax's RBI-single and
Luke Lycette's fielder's choice gave Jones a 2-0 lead in the second they wouldn't surrender.
Tubre didn't allow a hit until the fourth, a solo homer by Evan Radford to put EMCC on the board.
Locked at 2-1 through seven, a pair of Lion errors and
Gatlin Sanders RBI-single gave Jones some breathing room at 4-1. They'd score two more insurance runs in the ninth on a sac fly and passed ball.
Chase Honeycutt and Pearson also doubled for Jones in the win.
Tubre scattered three hits, one earned run and the 10 strikeouts to improve to 3-1.
Jones 7, EMCC 6
Four straight walks in the top of the seventh, including a bases-loaded walk to Bryans, and Pearson's two-run single helped Jones break away from a 4-4 tie in the final inning.
Jones trailed 3-0 after four before taking its first lead in the fifth.
Wax homered to start the inning and was followed by a Honeycutt double, three straight singles and sac fly to make it 4-3.
Ethan Medlin's RBI-single tied the game at 4-4 after six.
Back-to-back outs to start the seventh looked to turn away the Bobcats, but four straight free passes gave Jones a one-run lead and then Pearson's big single to right made it 7-4.
EMCC rallied to score two in the bottom half and had the tying run at third before a line out ended the threat.
Bryans tossed two late relief innings to get the win and
Kace Matthews picked up his second career save.
