Sakyia White went over 1,000 career points at Jones with 27 on the night, both
Meloney Thames and
En'Dya Buford added 19 and No. 9 Jones capped off a perfect MACCC slate with an 88-66 win over Itawamba Thursday.
Winners of 16 straight, Jones won its third straight MACCC Championship and sixth in seven years. They were presented the trophy pregame.
The Bobcats improved to 22-3 and will host a second round NJCAA Region 23 playoff game on March 1 against the Mississippi Delta/Baton Rouge winner.
Jones led wire-to-wire and by as many as 27 in the fourth.
White had 13 and 13 at the half as Jones shot 45 percent the opening period and held Itawamba to 22 percent shooting.
Eleven different Bobcats found the scoring column.
Ashanti Moore had seven points in 11 minutes.
Jones led 19-8 after the first quarter and 39-21 at half.
Addison Howell and Kenijha Flowers had a dozen apiece for the Indians.
