GOODMAN – The No. 12 Jones College Bobcats did not lose a game in a 9-0 win over Holmes here Monday afternoon.
In No. 1 doubles,
Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) and
Reagan Salter (Lewisburg) beat Whitney McCarter and Lizzie Keate Jones, 8-0.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) and
Sophie Endt (Vancleave) won No. 2 doubles by forfeit and
Annalyn Housley (Nettleton) and
Madelyn James (Northeast Jones) won No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Johnson beat McCarter in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, Anderson defeated Jones in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Housley downed Jasmine Bonty in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Salter, Endt and James won No.'s 4, 5 and 6 singles, respectively, by forfeit.
The Bobcats are now 6-0 overall, 2-0 in the MACCC. Jones goes to Copiah-Lincoln for a 9:30 a.m. match and to McComb to play Southwest at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats return home to meet Hinds in a 2 p.m. match on Friday.
Holmes (0-1) visits Co-Lin Tuesday and hosts Itawamba on Friday.
