ATHENS, Texas – Jones scored the game's first six points before No. 13 Trinity Valley scored 10 of the next 13 and never looked back in an 85-57 win over the Bobcats Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Cards stayed unbeaten in five all-time meetings against Jones.

TVCC improved to 8-2, while Jones fell to 3-3.

Khyla Ragins and La'Genesis Johnson combined for 10 of Jones' 14 first quarter points as they trailed 19-14 after one. TVCC scored 19 of the final 27 in the quarter.

TVCC outscored Jones 25-9 in the second quarter to take a 44-23 lead at the break.

April Edwards caught fire for TVCC in the fourth quarter, scoring 18 of her game-high 37. She was 9 of 13 from beyond the arc for the afternoon.

Jones was paced by 17 points and seven rebounds from Valencia McFall, 16 from Ragins and 11 points and 14 rebounds from Johnson. Aasia Wilson turned in nine points in 12 minutes off the bench.

Jones shot 40 percent against 52 percent for TVCC. The Lady Cards were 14 of 25 from three-point range while Jones finished 4 of 21.

The Bobcats travel to East Mississippi Thursday for a non-conference game at 5:30.
