PERKINSTON – Jones rallied from a 14-point first half deficit and got a season-high 39 points off the bench to edge Gulf Coast, 75-74, Monday night in overtime.
It was the Bobcats' fifth straight win over the Bulldogs. They improved to 9-3, 2-0 while MGCCC dropped to 6-8, 0-2 in league play.
Despite being outshot 52 to 38 percent, Jones dominated in second chance points and made its shots count at the free throw line to make up the difference.
JC was 22-of-27 from the stripe against 8-of-15 for Gulf Coast and was plus-seven on the offensive glass.
MGCCC led 36-30 at half after leading 24-10.
Caleb McGill had a career-high 20 points, followed by 17 from
Decorian Payton off the bench.
Zandon Haralson added seven points and five rebounds and
Samarion Grant had seven points.
Four Bulldogs finished in double figures, led by Anthony Robinson and JaVon Anderson with 15 apiece.
Jones returns home Thursday night to host Northwest.
