SUMMIT – Jones trailed by as many as 17 and got it down to four late before falling 67-55 Tuesday night to Southwest to snap a five-game winning streak.
Southwest improved to 10-6, 3-1 while the Bobcats fell to 10-4, 3-1. The two teams are tied for second in the MACCC standings.
The Bears led by a dozen at the half after taking advantage of poor shooting from Jones.
Trailing 40-24 with 16:13 to play, the Bobcats strung together a 17-5 run over the next seven minutes to get it down to four. A tough rebound and put back by 
Kam Carter made it 45-41.
After the play, a technical foul was called on 
Zandon Haralson, who was frustrated after a no-call underneath the goal. Southwest proceeded to score the next 10 points to put the game out of reach.
Jones shot 34 percent on the night and 56 percent from the free throw line. The Bears shot 36 percent from the floor and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe.
Caleb McGill was the lone Bobcat in double figures finishing with 10 points and five rebounds. 
Treylan Smith had nine points, five boards and three blocks and Haralson chipped in eight points.
Deon Brown led Southwest with 23 points.
Jones hosts Co-Lin on Thursday at 6 p.m.
