ELLISVILLE – Jones battled back from a 16-point second half deficit to tie the game late before a game-winning dunk by Co-Lin with 1.4 seconds remaining sealed a 76-74 win for the Wolves.

Co-Lin improved to 8-5, 2-2 in the MACCC while Jones dropped to 10-5, 3-2 in the conference. 

The Bobcats came out firing and took an early 8-2 lead with seven points from Treylan Smith.

Jemario Hersey and Co-Lin responded with a 9-2 spurt of their own to take an 11-10 lead.

A barrage of Bobcat three-pointers kept the game close the rest of the half, with Jones hitting seven from beyond the arc by five different players.

Co-Lin took a 46-44 lead into the half.

The shots stopped falling in the second half for Jones as Co-Lin was able to go on an 18-4 run to open the period. 

Trailing by 16, Jones started to slowly chip away after a pair of Samarion Grant and Zandon Haralson threes.

Caleb McGill's three got JC within 74-72 with 58 seconds left and he'd hit a turnaround jumper in the lane to tie it at 74 apiece with 24 ticks remaining.

Co-Lin took its final possession down to the last seconds, with Dylan Canoville's dunk and foul with 1.4 seconds left putting the Wolves up two. He would miss the ensuing free throw and Jones had one final chance.

The inbounds pass with 1.2 seconds left to Treylan Smith and halfcourt heave was unsuccessful as Co-Lin escaped with the win.

AJ Warnsley and Jemario Hersey were a two-man wrecking crew for Co-Lin, combining for 53 points and 21 rebounds.

Smith had 21 to lead Jones, followed by 13 apiece from Haralson and McGill.

Jones travels to East Mississippi on Monday.
