MADISON – No. 12 Jones College eased to a 9-0 decision over NCAA Division III foe Belhaven University here Friday afternoon at Cypress Lake.
Earlier in the day, the Bobcats gained a forfeit victory over Holmes Community College
The Bobcats are now 19-2 overall and 16-0 in MACCC play.
The Bobcats dominated the doubles courts.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) and
Mia Höddinghaus (Gulfport) beat
Judith Mills and Tyler Wiggins in No. 1 doubles, 8-2.
Addy Seward (Richland) and
Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) defeated Khin Lwin and Asia Robinson in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Reagan Salter (Lewisburg) and
Sarah Powell (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) blanked Lillian Williams and Lily Grace in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Powell beat Mills in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2 and
Allie Johnson (Hernando) downed Lwin in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Sophie Endt (Vancleave) whipped Grace 6-1, 6-1 in No. 3 singles and Salter blanked Robinson in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Anderson defeated Williams in No. 5 singles, 6-1,6-1 and
Madelyn James (Northeast Jones) beat Wiggins in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Jones hosts Southwest at 2 p.m. on Tuesday and concludes conference play with a 1 p.m. match at Mississippi Gulf Coast on April 8.
Belhaven, 1-8, hosts East Texas Baptist on Saturday.
