Jones College to host number of summer camps

Jones College will host a variety of athletic camps this summer, beginning May 31-June 1 with a football evaluation/combine camp. Hundreds of student-athletes entering grades K-12 from around the region will participate in activities to improve their fundamental skills and learn advanced techniques.

So far, Jones is offering five different sport camps, including boys and girls soccer, men's basketball, cheer, softball and football. All camps will be held on the campus of Jones College.

Men's and women's soccer is hosting Camp 1- June 1-3 for mini cats ages 4-7 from 9-11 a.m. Camp 2 is set for June 20-23 for mini cats (ages 4-7) from 9-11 a.m. and full cats (ages 8-14) from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Reach out to victoria.brook@jcjc.edu for questions.

Men's basketball will hold a team camp June 6-8, a two-day pool play event with a third-day single elimination tournament. Entry fee is $150. They'll also host an elite camp June 24 for $30.

Bobcat cheer will hold a kids camp, ages 5-14, from July 11-13. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Cost is $100 which includes a t-shirt. Send questions to kayla.hankins@jcjc.edu.

The 2018 national champion and four-time national runner-up softball team will host four camps. June 8 there will be a prospect camp for 2024-26 graduates, June 9 a team camp for high school teams, a middle school camp June 14 for 11-13 year-olds and a kids camp June 13 for 7-10 year-olds. JC football will host an evaluation/combine camp May 31-June 1 at Bobcat Stadium/Sim Cooley Field. Testing will include a 40-yard dash, pro shuttle and standing broad jump. Drills will include explosive movements, change of direction and bounding competition. Registration both days is from 1:30–2 p.m. and the camp will start immediately after. Prospects ages 7th through 12th grade are invited to come. Cost is $20 per student-athlete. Please bring cleats and a copy of a current physical.
