ELLISVILLE – No. 12 Jones College cruised to another 9-0 victory over Hinds here Tuesday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 16-1 overall and 14-0 in MACCC play. The Bobcat women have clinched a first-round bye in the Region 23 Tournament, which is scheduled for April 21-23, and are two wins away from the conference title and the region tournament top seed.
The Bobcats go to New Albany for matches on Thursday. Jones meets Northeast Mississippi at 11 a.m. and Blue Mountain College at 2 p.m. Hinds falls to 9-6 overall, 8-5 in the conference. The Eagles hosts Coastal Alabama on Thursday.

Allie Johnson (Hernando) and
Sophie Endt (Vancleave) defeated Myesha Nealon and Nyesha Nealon in No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Vlasceanu beat Anic in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-3 and Höddinghaus downed Emi Smith in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2. In No. 3 singles, Seward whipped Myesha Nealson, 6-3, 6-0 and
Sarah Powell (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) defeated Ross in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Johnson downed Anesha Smith in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and Endt beat Nyesha Nealon in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
