ELLISVILLE – No. 15 Jones College crushed Northeast Mississippi 9-0 here on a cold, blustery Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats only lost two sets in the six singles matches.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) beat Allyson Chapin 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles.
Sarah Powell (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) beat Mikayla Rogers 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 singles.
Sophie Endt (Vancleave) downed Carson Kitchens in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and
Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) defeated Haylee Compton in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0. In No. 5 singles,
Reagan Salter (Lewisburg) blanked Asa Lambert 6-0, 6-0 and
Madelyn James (Northeast Jones) shut out Marykate Nobles in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) and Endt defeated Chapin and Rogers in No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Salter and Powell beat Kitchens and Compton in No. 2 doubles, 8-0, and Anderson and James blanked Lambert and Nobles in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Jones is now 4-0 and will visit East Central for a 2 p.m. match on Tuesday.
Northeast, 0-3, faces Mississippi Gulf Coast Tuesday in New Albany.
