RAYMOND – The No. 15 Jones College Bobcats defeated No. 18 Hinds 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the Cleon McNight Tennis Center.
It was the 60th consecutive victory for the Bobcats
Jones, 11-0, travels to Itawamba on Tuesday and hosts Meridian at 1 p.m. on March 4.
Hinds, 7-2, hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
The Bobcats were impressive once again in posting their eighth shutout of the season.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) and Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) beat Eni Anic and Emi Smith in No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
Addy Seward (Richland) and
Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) defeated Anesha Smith and Morgan Ross in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) and
Sophie Endt (Vancleave) downed Myesha Nealon and Nyesha Nealon in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Vlasceanu outlasted Anic in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 13-11 and Höddinghaus beat Emi Smith in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2. Seward whipped Ross in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0 and
Sarah Powell (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) hammered Myesha Nealon in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Johnson defeated Anesha Smith in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-0 and Endt downed Nyesha Nealon in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
