MERIDIAN – The Jones College women posted a big victory here Tuesday at the Northeast Park Tennis Center.
The Bobcats defeated Meridian 8-1 to post their 52nd consecutive match win.
Jones, 3-0, returns to action with a 2 p.m. home match on Friday vs. Northeast.
Meridian, 2-1, goes to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Friday.
The Bobcats won all three doubles' points.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) and
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) beat Ana Julissa De Mata and Isabella Warham 8-3 in No. 1 doubles.
Addy Seward (Richland) and
Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) downed Sarah Cline and Harper Bryan 8-4 in No. 2 doubles.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) and
Sophie Endt (Vancleave) whipped Kolbi Holifield and Isabella Sanders in No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Höddinghaus downed Warham in No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2 and Seward defeated Cline in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Sarah Powell (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) beat Bryan, 6-0, retired in No. 4 singles and Johnson whipped Holifield 6-0, 6-1 in No. 5 singles. Endt downed Sanders in No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-1. De Mata defeated Vlasceanu in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-4.
