Meloney Thames scored a career-high 25 points to lead all scorers and
Sakyia White added an 18-point, 18-rebound double-double to lift No. 7 Jones over Southwest, 66-57, on Saturday afternoon.
The game was originally scheduled for January 10, but postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.
With Saturday's victory, Jones picked up its 13th straight win over Southwest to improve to 13-3 overall, 8-0 in conference play. The Bears fell to 12-6, 7-2.
Jones trailed 12-11 after one quarter, but rallied to take a 30-26 lead at the break. The Bobcats never trailed the rest of the way in a tightly contested game.
With the game tied at 53-all with 3:06 to play, Thames hit a running jumper as the shotclock expired and
Jordan Clark buried a wide-open three to start a 7-0 Bobcat run.
Jones was then able to salt the game away.
Thames scored 19 of her 25 in the second half, White had 18 and 18 and
Olivia Knight had 10 points and six assists.
Southwest was led by Shylia McGee with 17 and Analya White with 14 points.
Jones shot 45 percent on the day and held Southwest to 35 percent.
The Bobcats will play their third game in five days on Monday, hosting Northeast for a 6 p.m. tip on JCJC-TV.
