SCOOBA – Jones built a 23-7 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 71-49 victory at East Mississippi Tuesday night.
Jones won its 18th straight conference game in improving to 10-2 overall, 5-0 in the league. EMCC fell to 6-7, 3-2.
Sakyia White scored eight of Jones' first 11 points and
Jordan Clark swished in a three-pointer to help the Bobcats jump out to an early 13-2 lead.
The lead was 38-23 at the half and 55-34 after three quarters.
EMCC wouldn't get any closer than 20 the final 10 minutes and
Amya Black hit the back end of two free throws with just over two minutes left to cap the 22-point road win.
White led all scorers with 20 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
Meloney Thames added 16 points, Clark had 11,
Olivia Knight seven points and nine dimes and
Mackenzie Thomas had six points and eight rebounds.
Jones shot it 52 percent on the night, its second-best shooting performance this season. EMCC was held to 33 percent.
