POPLARVILLE – A pair of go-ahead hits in the sixth inning in both games allowed No. 3 Pearl River to sweep Tuesday's Cat Fight over Jones College at Dub Herring Field.
The Wildcats used Austin Izzio's RBI-double in Game 1 and then Graham Crawford's three-run homer in Game 2 to sweep the day by 3-1 and 6-3 finals.
Jones fell to 22-18, 15-11 in the league while PRCC improved to 31-7 and 21-5 in the MACCC.
The Bobcats, who have clinched a spot in the MACCC playoffs, will travel to Holmes on Saturday, April 24 to close out the regular season.
Game 1 – Pearl River 3, Jones 1
Locked in a pitcher's duel between PRCC's Dakota Lee and Jones'
Dalton Rogers, it was Izzio's RBI-double that lifted the Wildcats to an opening win.
Lee punched out nine for the Wildcats and Rogers sat down 12.

PRCC would tie the game at 1-1 in the fifth on John Griffin Bell's RBI-double and then add single runs in the sixth and seventh.
Six Bobcats combined for their six hits.
Rogers was once again the hard-luck loser, scattering four hits, one earned run and 12 strikeouts to fall to 3-4. Lee went seven innings before making way to Landon Harper who earned his third save.
Game 2 – Pearl River 6, Jones 3
Tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Graham Crawford sent a 1-2 pitch over the wall for a three-run shot to help the Wildcats sweep the day.
DeeJay Booth's RBI-groundout put Jones ahead 1-0 in the first, but PRCC would score single runs in the second and third to take a 2-1 lead.
Jesse Johnson's RBI-single tied the game in the fourth, and a fielder's choice put the Bobcats ahead briefly, 3-2.
Pearl River evened things up at 3-3 in the bottom of the frame when Nick Skaggs singled on the first pitch of the at-bat.
It was then Crawford's three-run shot in the sixth that broke the tie and sent PRCC to the sweep.
Garrett Langrell fell to 3-2 in relief, going 2.1 innings and allowing three runs on four hits, striking out three.
Cole Mozingo got the start and the no-decision.
Hunter French was 2-for-3 to lead JC at the plate.
