ELLISVILLE – The Jones College Bobcats remained unbeaten with a 7-2 victory over Copiah-Lincoln here Thursday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 9-0 overall, 8-0 in the MACCC. The Bobcats will go to McComb to face Southwest in a 2 p.m. match on Friday.
Co-Lin, 3-5, goes to Itawamba on Friday.
Jones won two of the doubles' points.
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) and
Addy Seward (Richland) beat Morgyn Brister and Isabella Chela in No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) and
Allie Johnson (Hernando) defeated Britany Barnett and Gracie Phillips in No. 3 doubles, 8-4. In No. 1 doubles,
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) and
Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) fell 5-8 to Susana Patino and Madison Shows. In an extra match,
Stori Endt (Vancleave) and
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) defeated Paige Shedd and Gracee Warren, 8-1.
Höddinghaus defeated Chela in No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-1. Seward downed Shows in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Mills whipped Brister in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Chism beat Barnett in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-3. Johnson blanked Warren in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Vlasceanu lost to Patino in No. 1 singles, 3-6, 3-6. In an extra match, Rodriguez beat Phillips, 8-0.
