MERIDIAN – The 12th-rated Jones College Bobcats posted an impressive victory here Saturday at the Northeast Tennis Center.
The Bobcats defeated No. 15 Wallace St.-Hanceville (Alabama), 8-1.
Jones is now 16-0 on the season and has won 45 consecutive matches dating back to 2019. The Bobcats visit Copiah-Lincoln on April 6 in their next match.
Wallace State, 5-5, goes to Coastal Alabama-South on Tuesday.
Jones started off the match by sweeping the doubles' points.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) and
Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) beat Anne Knepper and Natillia Barron in No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) and
Addy Seward (Richland) defeated Halle McCrory and Breanna Vann in No. 2doubles, 8-2.
Ally Brooke Chism (Newton County) and
Allie Johnson (Hernando) downed Micah Oldacre and Tara Trammell in No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Vlasceanu whipped Knepper in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Höddinghaus defeated Barron in No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Seward whipped McCrory in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Chism downed Vann in No. 5 singles, 7-5, withdrew.
Stori Endt (Vancleave) defeated Tara Trammel in No.6 singles, 6-3,6-0. Mills fell to Oldacre in No. 4 singles, 6-7, 4-10.
