ELLISVILLE – The 12th-rated Jones College Bobcats blanked Hinds 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
It was the ninth shutout this season for Jones and their 43rd consecutive match victory.
The Bobcats are now 15-0 overall and 12-0 in the MACCC. They will face 15th-ranked Wallace St.-Hanceville (Alabama) at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Meridian.
In No. 1 singles,
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) beat Hzel Lara Gonzalez, 6-1, 6-3. In No. 2 singles,
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) whipped Elizabeth Wooten, 6-3, 6-0.
Addy Seward (Richland) defeated Emi Smith in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) downed Morgan Ross in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-0.
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) edged Myesha Nealon in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 7-5.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) defeated Liz Knight in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1. In extra matches,
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) beat Anesha Smith, 8-2, and
Stori Endt (Vancleave) defeated Nyesha Nealon, 8-2.
Mills and Vlasceanu beat Gonzalez and Smith in No. 1 doubles, 8-2. In No. 2 doubles, Seward and Höddinghaus downed Wooten and Massey, 8-1. Chism and Johnson whipped Myesha Nealon and Ross in No. 3 doubles, 8-1. In an extra match, Endt and Rodriguez defeated Nyesha Nealson and Smith 8-2.
