DECATUR – Another day, another shutout for Jones College.
The Bobcats blanked East Central 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the ECCC Tennis Complex. It was the fourth consecutive shutout for Jones.
The Bobcats, 5-0, will not play again until they visit Mississippi Gulf Coast on Feb. 16.
ECCC, 1-2, hosts MGCCC on Feb. 9.
In No. 1 doubles,
Judith Mills (Pontotoc) and
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) whipped Natalia Beltran and Alejandra Vargas, 8-1. Andrea Valsceanu (Spain) and
Addy Seward (Richland) beat Sarah Cline and Anna Moore in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) and
Stori Endt (Vancleave) defeated Madison Autry and Madison Gregg in No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Vlasceanu downed Beltran in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Höddinghaus defeated Vargas in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Seward beat Cline in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Mills knocked off Moore in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Chism whipped Gregg in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) defeated Courtney Gill in No. 6 singles, 6-3 6-1. In an extra match,
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) beat Autry, 7-5, 6-0.
