FULTON – The Jones College Bobcats had another dominant performance on the courts here Thursday afternoon at the Johnson/Partlow Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats blanked Itawamba, 9-0. Jones is now 8-0 overall, 7-0 in the MACCC. Jones will host Meridian at 2 p.m. on March 2 in its next match.
ICC, 0-6, hosts Snead State (Alabama) and Wallace State-Hanceville (Alabama) on Saturday.
In No. 1 doubles,
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) and
Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) beat Gaia del Sordo and Lexi Kent, 8-1.
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) and
Addy Seward (Richland) whipped Addison Smith and Madelyn Angie in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) and
Allie Johnson (Hernando) defeated Sydney Ferguson and Brianna Hibbler in No. 3 doubles, 8-3.
Vlasceanu defeated del Sordo in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Höddinghaus downed Kent in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-2. Seward blanked Angle in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Mills downed Hibbler in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Chism defeated Smith in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) downed Brianna Ball in No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-1. In extra matches, Johnson shut out Ferguson, 6-0, and
Stori Endt (Vancleave) won, 6-1.
