RAYMOND – The Jones College women's tennis team improved to 7-0 with an 8-1victory over Hinds here Tuesday afternoon.
The Bobcats are now 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the MACCC. Jones will meet Itawamba at 2 p.m. Thursday (was Friday) in Fulton.
Hinds, 4-2, goes to Southwest on Wednesday.
The Bobcats swept all six singles' matches.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) beat Hzel Lara Gonzalez in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) defeated Emi Smith in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 7-6 (5).
Addy Seward (Richland) downed Elizabeth Wooten in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) whipped Morgan Ross in No.4 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) whipped Myesha Nealon in No. 5 singles,6-1, 6-0.
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) downed Liz Knight in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-3.
Höddinghaus and Seward blanked Smith and Ross in No. 2 singles, 8-0. Chism and
Stori Endt (Vancleave) defeated Myesha Nealon and Nyesha Nealon in No. 3 singles, 8-3. In No. 1 doubles, Vlasceanu and Mills fell to Gonzalez and Wooten, 2-8.
