PERKINSTON – Jones got revenge from a season-opening loss to Gulf Coast with a dominating 40-minute performance Monday night on the road.
The Bobcats (2-4), who hadn't played in two weeks, used five scorers in double figures and built a 20-point cushion at halftime to run away with an 81-50 win.
Jabari Bowman scored 16 of his career-high 18 in the final half, with
Ashton Campbell adding 18,
John Rawls and
Korey Jones chipping in 11 and
Reggie Gause Jr. finishing with 10 points.
Gulf Coast (4-5) cut the Bobcat lead to 17 with just under 10 minutes to play, but wouldn't get any closer.
Jones shot 48 percent from the floor and finished with 21 assists on 32 made field goals.
Tradavis Thompson had nine assists and Campbell had six.
Melvion Flanagan led Gulf Coast with 21 points. He was the only Bulldog in double figures.
The Bobcats will host No. 10 Pearl River on Thursday at 6 p.m.
