ELLISVILLE – The Jones College women's tennis team made quick work of Southwest Mississippi.
The Bobcats blanked the Bears 9-0 here Tuesday afternoon at the Jones College Tennis Complex. It was the third straight shutout for the Bobcats.
Jones, 4-0, travels to East Central for a 2 p.m. match on Friday.
Southwest, 0-3, hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast on Friday.
In No. 1 doubles,
Judith Mills (Pontotoc) and
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) beat Madison Munson and Lauren McDaniel, 8-0. In No. 2 doubles
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) and
Allie Johnson (Hernando)defeated Savannah Frith and Rylie Garris, 8-2.
Stori Endt (Vancleave) and
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) blanked Molly Stringer and Anna Turner in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Jones only lost three games in singles.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) beat Munson in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Addy Seward (Richland) defeated Frith in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Chism shut out McDaniel in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Johnson defeated Garris in No. 4 singles, 6-1,6-0. Endt downed Turner in No. 5 singles, 6-1,6-0. Rodriguez beat Stringer 6-1,6-0 in No. 6 singles.
