MERIDIAN – The Jones College women's tennis team blanked Meridian 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the Northeast Park Tennis Center.
Jones improves to 3-0 with the victory.
The Bobcats will host Southwest at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Meridian, 2-1, goes to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
In No. 1 singles,
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) beat Isabella Warham, 6-2, 6-0.
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) beat Carla Montaruli in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0.
Addy Seward (Richland) downed Harper Bryan in No. 3singles, 6-3, 6-2.
Judith Mills (Pontotoc) defeated Britney Murphree in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2. In No. 5 singles,
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) beat Tessa Ward, 6-0,6-2.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) edged Ralie Boles in No. 6 singles, 6-3,7-6 (9). In an extra match,
Stori Endt (Vancleave) downed Kolbi Holifield, 6-2, 6-1.
In No. 1 doubles, Mills and Vlasceanu defeated Warham and Montaruli, 8-2. Höddinghaus and Seward whipped Bryan and Ward in No. 2 doubles, 8-1. Chism and Johnson defeated Murphree and Boles in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
