ELLISVILLE – The Jones College women's tennis team blanked Itawamba 9-0 on a blustery Wednesday afternoon here at the Jones College Tennis Complex.
The win improves Jones to 2-0 on the season.
History at the courts as several of the matches were livestreamed on JCJC.TV. It was the first time a Jones home tennis match was livestreamed.
In No. 1 singles,
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) beat Gala del Sardo, 6-3, 6-2.
Mia Höddinghaus (Germany) defeated Lexi Kent in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Addy Seward (Richland) whipped Madie Angle in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and
Judith Mills (Pontotoc) blanked Brianna Hibler in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Ally Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) defeated Brianna Ball in No. 5 singles, 6-1,6-1 and
Allie Johnson (Hernando) downed Sydney Ferguson in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
In No. 1 doubles, Höddinghaus and Mills beat Kent and del Sardo, 8-4. Vlasceanu and Seward defeated Ball and Angle in No. 2 doubles, 8-2. Chism and
Stori Endt (Vancleave) blanked Hibbler and Smith in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
The Bobcats visit Meridian for a 2 p.m. match on Friday and return to face Southwest at 2 p.m. on Feb. 2.
Itawamba, 0-2, hosts Gulf Coast on Friday.
