ELLISVILLE – No. 19 Jones College edged No. 20 East Central 5-4 here Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Courts.
Jones (8-0) travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast for an 11 a.m. match on Saturday and goes to Meridian for a 2 p.m. match on Tuesday.
East Central (6-3) hosts Copiah-Lincoln on Tuesday.

The Bobcats took two of the three doubles' matches.
Bella Chela (South Africa) and
Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) beat Natalia Beltran and Alejandra Vargas in No. 1 doubles, 8-5.
Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) and
Stori Endt (Vancleave) defeated Kayla Baucum and Maria Graham in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Danielle Viljoen (Jackson) and
Dixie Lei Hodges (Laurel Christian School) lost 1-8 in No. 2 doubles to Josie Hurst and Ali Grace Walker.
Chela defeated Beltran in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3. Viljoen whipped Vargas in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and Chism downed Baucum in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Mills lost 3-6, 1-6 to Walker in No. 3 singles. Hodges fell in a close match to Hurst in No. 4 singles, 2-6, 6-2, 2-10 and
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) fell to Graham in No. 6 singles, 2-6, 1-6.
