ELLISVILLE – The 20th-rated Jones College Bobcats made short work of Holmes here Friday afternoon at Bobcat Tennis Courts.
The Bobcats improved to 5-0 as they blanked the Bulldogs, 5-0.
The Bobcats only lost two games on the afternoon.
In No. 1 singles,
Trey Hilton (Pearl) defeated Blaike Langston, 6-0, 6-2.
Ryan Myers (Madison Central) beat Micah Douglas, 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 singles,
Greyson Parman (Warren Central) defeated Vershunn Hargrove, 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles and
Braxton Wallis (Brookhaven) blanked Tyler Mosley, 6-0, 6-0 in No. 4 singles Jones won the other singles matches by forfeit.
Hilton and
Branden McKee (Northwest Rankin) won 8-0 over Langston and Douglas in No. 1 doubles. Wallis and Myers shut out Mosley and Hargrove in No. 2 doubles, 8-0. Jones won No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
The Bobcats return to play on Tuesday when they visit Mississippi Gulf Coast for a 1 p.m. match.
Holmes, 0-2, hosts East Central on Tuesday.
