ELLISVILLE – The No. 19 Jones College Bobcats defeated No. 23 Meridian 7-2 here Tuesday afternoon at Bobcat Tennis Courts.
The Jones women are now 2-0 after the victory.

"The women really stepped up in their first real test in MACJC play," he said. "
Danielle Viljoen really shined at No. 2 singles only dropping three games the whole match."
Viljoen defeated Elsiva Latu in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and
Judith Mills (Pontotoc) outlasted Racbel VanHorn in No. 3 singles, 7-5, 2-6, 10-6.
Dixie Lei Hodges (Laurel Christian School) whipped Tessa Ward in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-2 and
Brooke Chism (Pontotoc) beat Britney Murpnree in No. 5 singles, 7-6 (4), 6-2.
Kamryn Rodriguez (Newton County) defeated Autumn Welborn in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Bella Chela (South Africa) lost to Zoe Freke in No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-7.
Viljoen and Hodges beat VanHorn and Ward in No. 2 doubles, 8-1, and Chism and
Stori Endt (Vancleave) downed Welborn and Murphree in No. 3 doubles, 8-5. Chela and Mills lost 9-7 to Freke and Latu in No. 1 doubles.
The Bobcats host Holmes in a 1 p.m. match on Friday.
Meridian, 1-1, travels to Itawamba on Friday.
